Park Earns Super Status With 15th World Title Defense

Ji Hyun Park will defend her IFBA Strawweight World Title October 5 in a rematch against Jujeath Nagaowa of the Philippines in Bucheon City, South Korea. The 28 year-old 102 pound world champion won the IFBA title in May, 2006 and has not lost a bout since. Going into Saturday’s fight, Parks record stands at 18 (5 KO)-2-0.

Park has battled opponents from countries throughout the world including Krisztina Belinszky, Hungary; Holly Dunaway, USA; Anna Arazola Mexico and Nao Ikeyama, Japan. In honor of her long-standing accomplishments as the International Female Boxers Association’s longest reigning champion, Ji Hyun Park will be the first title holder to receive the “Super” designation. She will receive her new title in the ring prior to Saturday’s fight, before a live Korean television audience and will be known as the IFBA Super World Strawweight Champion.
