For the 12th time in her professional career, Ji-Hyun Park successfully defended her IFBA Mini Flyweight title against one of her toughest opponents to date, Anna Arrazola of Mexico. With Judges scores of 97-94, 97-93, 98-95, champion Park aggressively defended her title in front of a national TV audience throughout South Korea. IFBA President Judy Kulis supervised the fight which was promoted by Woon Chul Shin.
IFBA Champion Ji-Hyun Park is set to defend her title on national Korean television, Saturday, August 25th against Mexico’s Anna Arrazola. The Mexican challenger arrived in Seoul, Monday August 20, in preparation for the fight and weigh-in which is scheduled for Friday, August 24th at 3 PM. The Park v Arrazola fight will air at 6 PM Korean time.
Claressa Shields brings home the Gold for the USA!
With a score of 19-12, United States Olympic Middleweight Claressa Shields, won the first Gold Medal in Olympic history in women’s boxing!
Congratulations also go to Nicola Adams of Britain the Gold Medalist in the Flyweight division and Ireland’s Katie Taylor, the first Gold Medal winner at Lightweight.

IFBA Mini Flyweight Champion Dan Bi Kim has been forced to postpone her July 23rd World Championship bout due to injury. Promoter Woonshul Shin notified the IFBA that Kim suffered a training injury which is being evaluated. Kim won her IFBA title in October of 2009, over Joelene Blackshear of the United States, in Songa Convensia, Incheon, South Korea.
